ITU Monitor

ITU Monitor is a longitudinal survey, the aim of which is to identify to what extent ICT is integrated with pedagogy and to assess the frequency and type of ICT use in Norwegian schools more generally.

ITU Monitor is a longitudinal, quantitative survey of the use of ICT by teachers and students in the 7th and 9th grades of primary school and 2nd year of upper secondary school (abbreviated VG2). The survey as conducted for the first time in 2003 and has been repeated every two years. ITU Monitor 2009 is the fourth in the series.

The objective of ITU Monitor is to survey the use of ICT in Norwegian schools by teachers and students. In ITU Monitor 2009 we have, as in previous years, surveyed how often computers are used in school and for homework at home. In order to obtain indicators of how well digital skills are integrated with school subjects, we have also surveyed how often computers are used in different lessons in school. We have also studied what computers are used for in school.
